At the Wärtsilä specialist Propulsion Services workshop in Glasgow, Scotland, you will find a fully equipped and flexible fitting facility. The workshop is served by overhead cranes, each with a special 32 tonne capacity and all inside a single building with an eaves height of 7.5m.
Our workshop is designed so that you can benefit from our range of calibrated measuring equipment, hydraulic torquing equipment, hand tools, power tools, SKF type hydraulic tooling, induction bearing heaters, liquid nitrogen, thermal blankets, consumables and specialist tooling.
Aside from the impressive hardware, the Wärtsilä team of skilled engineers offers many years of expertise. We can handle the strip down, inspect and rebuild of all types of mechanical and hydraulic machinery, propellers, thrusters and water-jets – large or small. Our engineers can meet the requirements of any job from fitting propellers to propeller blade and thruster repairs.
In addition, with full nondestructive (NDT) services on-site, we can meet any customer and classification requirements.
The Wärtsilä fitting shop is organised around working 24/7 in order to meet tight breakdown schedules. With a proven track record, our Glasgow facility carries out a diverse range of work for the marine, oil and gas, and general engineering industries.
