There are several benefits to this service including a turnaround time as short as 24 hours, instead of spending 6-9 days in a dry-dock to completely overhaul an existing unit. This results in less downtime during the contract period and will not only help your customer relations with their charter, but means your customer will make huge savings by not losing charter earnings.
The exchange thruster can be shipped to anywhere in the world, ready for installation, meaning no need for extensive machine shop facilities at the shipyard, to overhaul a fitted thruster.
Furthermore, the exchange thruster carries a 6 month guarantee from Wärtsilä. All service exchange thrusters are fully tested for 4 hours on our spin test rig after rebuild to ensure our customers have peace of mind, and because we at Wärtsilä are confident in the quality of our products.
