Varma Mutual Pension Insurance Company has today informed Wärtsilä Corporation that it has purchased Wärtsilä shares on the 3 July 2007 and now owns over a twentieth (1/20) of the company’s number of votes. Following the transaction Varma owns 2,795,615 A shares and 1,188,691 B shares giving a total holding of 3,984,306 Wärtsilä shares or 4.16% of Wärtsilä’s share capital and 9.46% of the total votes.
