he Pipe Laying vessel ‘PLV924’ has a pontoon shaped hull with firing line asymmetric suitable for S-Lay mode down to 90 meters. It is equipped with mooring winches and 6 thrusters. The Wärtsilä Ship Design vessel is133 m in length with a 25,700 dead weight tonnage and a service speed of 25.50 knots.
The PLV924 is fitted with a moon pool, with the possibility to erect a J-Lay tower for J-Lay mode to lay pipes in deep waters. The vessel is powered by 6 high speed Diesel Generating Sets, enabling it to transit at moderate speed and, during pipe-laying, proceed with maximum flexibility and speed for optimum pipe laying performance. A dive shaft, pre-installed emergency equipment, workshops, and auxiliary machinery support the vessel’s additional role as a dive support vessel.
