Wärtsilä supplied the propulsion systems for the Royal New Zealand Navy’s seven vessel Project Protector which includes a 131m multi-role vessel (MRV), two 85m offshore patrol vessels (OPV) and four 55m inshore patrol vessels (IPV).
For Offshore Patrol Vessel HMNZS Wellington, commissioned in 2010, Wärtsilä supplied two controllable pitch propellers, the shafting systems and a bow thrusters.
