Following Wärtsilä’s successful full-scale testing with a marine engine operating on LPG fuel, Oslo-listed BW LPG has placed successive orders, totalling 15 in all, for the Wärtsilä LPG Fuel Supply System (LFSS). The systems will be retrofitted to BW LPG’s very large gas carrier (VLGC) vessels. For the retrofitting projects, Wärtsilä has been designated as the system integrator, which involves not only installation of the system, but also the required ship design modifications.
