Wärtsilä Italia has been awarded as Best Strategic Partner 2016 by Shanghai Electric Power Malta (SEPM), a Shanghai Electric Power company, one of the most important energy companies in China and owner of D3 Power Plant in Delimara Power Station.
In December 2014 Wärtsilä Corporation signed an important agreement with Shanghai Electric Power for the conversion of the plant to operate on natural gas, which has resulted in reducing emissions and complying with regulations set by the EU.
The project, started in March 2016, is about to be finalized, while Wärtsilä Italia has signed a 5 years Maintenance Agreement, effective from September 2016, and is completing two important extra activities called "Reset to = 0", to accomplish the gas conversion of the plant.
Thanks to these services SEPM has decided to award Wärtsilä Italia with the aim to recognize the efficiency shown during the implementation of these activities.

The prize was withdrawn, during a ceremony held in Malta, by Flavio Borsarelli, General Manager Sales Service Unit Wärtsilä Italia and Sosio Limatola, Branch Manager Malta, Services Unit Wärtsilä Italia.
