Lightweight, movable decks used on fast ferries. If traffic is freight dominated, the crew can hydraulically raise the mezzanine deck up to the deckhead to allow clearance for high freight vehicles. It is secured to the deckhead by locking devices. If only cars, or a mix of cars and light freight, are being carried the mezzanine can be left in the lowered position.
