    OPC UA is used to securely expose large amounts of Machinery data coming from NACOS automation systems to support internal data analysis and fleet operation solutions in an optimal and scalable way.

    The ability to collect data uninterruptedly at a high resolution level represents the key asset to ensure safe, reliable and efficient operation achieving millions of dollars in savings every year.

    In addition to Modbus or similar legacy protocols, OPC UA  gives the customers the possibility to access the entire automation system dataset without requiring Wärtsilä to come on board  to add signals.

    For these reasons more and more customers are today migrating to OPC UA instead of older legacy interfaces used in the past.
