    at Wärtsilä in the USA

Seatrade Cruise Global in Miami happened so fast, that we feel that a short recap is fair and timely!

26 May 2022 at 08:00 UTC+2

During April 26-28, 2022, Miami was glowing with Cruise industry representatives from all over the world.

Our exhibition stand was packed at every hour. We held an exciting W46TS-DF engine launch, announced our partnership on Carnival’s decarbonization program, and hosted a spirited social event Nikki Beach.

“The W46TS-DF represents the combination of all the best that we have from all of our engines into one - as a modular engine that will allow us to help in the decarbonization path,” Ricardo Opperman, Director, Strategic Accounts

"The biggest success is the collaboration between the 3 groups. What it took between Royal Caribbean Group, Wärtsilä and CdA (Chantiers de l’Atlantique) to actually make this happen together was probably the greatest success,” Kourtney Dever, Director, Strategic Accounts

“I was very excited to see so many people here... There was a little bit of doubt if people would show up after 2 years of Covid, but I am really happy because we had so many great people joining this event,” Hanno Schoonman, Regional Sales Director Americas, Marine

Check out our recap video and our press releases:

Launch of new large bore Wärtsilä engine accelerates the journey towards decarbonised operations

“Cutting-edge efficiency and leading environmental performance are crucial factors when designing our new ships,” says Harri Kulovaara, EVP Newbuilding and Innovation, Royal Caribbean Group. “We were delighted to work with Wärtsilä – as well as with the shipyard Chantiers de l’Atlantique - from an early stage in development to make sure these engines are the ideal fit to power the latest addition to our fleet while advancing our sustainability journey.”
