The Wärtsilä Coupling replacement is designed for large-bore engines such as the Wärtsilä 46 and Wärtsilä 50. The coupling upgrade has been developed in partnership with our supplier and involves replacing the engine’s
existing coupling with a new coupling solution.
The flexible coupling dampens vibration between the engine and generator/gearbox. The Wärtsilä Coupling replacement solution enables maximum flexibility, thus extending the lifetime and reducing long-term maintenance costs.
The replacement interval is 48,000 hrs. The Wärtsilä Coupling replacement can be done during normal operation of the vessel or at the time of drydocking. The optimal timing for a replacement is during major scheduled maintenance.
