Wärtsilä LNG Bunkering & Supply System simulator is launched

Following the increased demand for LNG bunkering fuel and the expanded LNG infrastructure in ports worldwide, Wärtsilä is launching LNG Bunkering & Supply System simulator. The official announcement takes place at the Global LNG Bunkering Summit 2020 conference, being held in Amsterdam from January 28 to 30.

The simulator will promote greater safety onboard LNG fuelled vessels by improving the level of training for operators of LNG systems. The design is based on the well proven Wärtsilä LNG Pac and Gas Valve Unit (GVU) technologies, and includes all auxiliary systems used in connection with the fuel supply.

Scope of the simulation of the LNG Pac model includes Bunkering Station, Tank Connection Space with the fuel gas preparation equipment, Dual Fuel Engines with Gas Valve Unit, Nitrogen system, Ventilation system, Gas and Fire detection systems, Process Control Automation System and Safety System.

The LNG Bunkering simulator is qualified for usage in basic and advanced IGF code training according to STCW 2010 Manila amendments Code for the normal operational conditions and emergency response.
