A process of surface cleaning before paint application. The surface preparation is of great importance for the quality and the durability of the coating. The following substances are to be removed: metal oxides, scales, water soluble salts, old coatings, dust, grease and oil, foreign matters, humidity. The surface preparation can be achieved by one of the following methods: blast-cleaning, mechanical cleaning, hydroblasting and electrolytic descaling.
