Wärtsilä’s sustainability is systematically managed through group-level policies, management systems, and practices in place for material sustainability topics and impacts. Our Code of Conduct defines common rules for all employees, and provides guidance on our approach to responsible business practices. It is available in 16 languages. The Quality, Environmental, Health and Safety (QEHS) Policy sets principles for managing the environmental impacts of our products and services. The policy on human rights, equal opportunities and fair employment practices creates a common framework for employee practices in all group companies. It covers human and labour rights, equal opportunities, well-being at work, non-harassment, and remuneration.
Wärtsilä's Corporate Manual also includes other policies, such as anti-corruption, compliance reporting, and supply management policies. The purpose of the manual is to safeguard compliance with relevant legislation, and to provide further guidance concerning daily business conduct.
Wärtsilä also participates in several voluntary initiatives, agreements, and commitments.
